Good morning and happy Monday! Just dropping off a little inspiration for you hoopers (and others) today! In basketball, the odds are against you when you start to set your goals for getting achievement awards, getting a scholarship to a university.making it to the big league, etc. That’s why these things are so celebrated. The odds are against everyone though. If you think about getting a scholarship to the best university in the world, UCLA (@uclawbb), you have to realize that there are only so many slots open. If they only have 3 seniors graduating, so 3 scholarships open, you are competing with the ENTIRE WORLD for one of those three scholarships. Yes, the whole world. Idk if you realized this but coaches go overseas to bring in players too! With that being said, does that mean you give up hope, or does that mean you give it your all? Do you get down on yourself because it’s not likely, or do you work even harder to MAKE your dreams a reality? It’s up to you the successes you would like to have. It’s up to you to position yourself for the best outcome. You have to shoot for the stars (UCLA) and if you fall short (USC) you’re still in a good situation.

Bit that’s just talking about college, but what about your weekly games? What if your team is terrible but you’re playing against a good team? Do you give it your all and try to put your team on your back, carrying them to a possibly victory? Or do you just focus on how much better the other team is? There will always be situations where the odds are against you… You just have to get in the habit NOW of giving it your all, and creating the outcome that you want!
