In basketball, there will always be lessons learned. There will always be experiences to grow from. In basketball, you build on the good and bad things that happen, hopefully shrinking the amount of negative experiences over time. But here’s the thing… If you don’t start learning now, becoming a student now, giving it your all now, etc., by the time you get serious, the lessons that you have to learn might be frown upon. If your on the AAU circuit playing 14U, there are mistakes that recruiters/scouts will see that are more acceptable than if you were playing 16U. When you’re playing 16U, you should know that you can’t turn the ball over and then run down the court and commit a fast break foul (out of frustration). 13U, yea, you should know that, too… but recruiters won’t weigh it the same, because the 13 year old has more time to learn the game. The 13 year old has more time to mess up. So you can wait until you’re a junior in high school to get serious about trying to play at the next level, but you better be close to perfect because there are mistakes that should have been made and lessons that should have already been learned by that point. #morningthought #motivation #inspiration #encouragement #beinspired #basketball #hoopers #ballers #getbetter #dobetter #bebetter #think #work #play #thinkworkplay #twp #thebasketballphilosopher
