Good morning IG/Hoopers! How well are we preparing for the unknown? Or does that sound foreign to you? You never know when your opportunity will come, how it will come, or the reasons that it is coming. What we do know, however, it that when the opportunity comes, you want to be able to take it. Whether it’s playing time or a try out for the USA Team, you have to be prepared to dominate the situation. If you don’t get that playing time because you’re not ready, or if you don’t make the final roster because you weren’t ready, somebody else will. THERE ARE NO LOST OPPORTUNITIES!
You are in competition with everyone and no one… at the same time. If you strive to be better than the player you were yesterday, you will be ready for some of these opportunities. If you slack on your training, self improvement, education, etc, you will not be ready for the opportunities that arise, and someone else, who is prepared, who wants it more, who is competing for the same thing, will take that opportunity. It’s much easier to compete with yourself… you’re in control!

So just remember, in order to be ready for the opportunities tomorrow, you must prepare today. You will not be able to “seize the moment” if you’re not prepare to seize!
