Happy FRIDAY!!! It’s a new day. It’s Friday! It’s Good Friday. So make it good! We can’t move forward in our journeys if we are living so much in our past. It’s great to reflect. It’s great not to forget. But we can’t live there. A lot of players (people in general too) only see one side of this, though. When you had a bad yesterday, then not living in the past makes all the sense. It’s encouraging. It help you to move forward so you’re not down on yourself. For example, Chris Paul didn’t do too well guarding Steph Curry (Actually, he never really does). Earlier this week CP was the laughing stock of the NBA. The very next day, he had a remarkable game! He didn’t live in his yesterday. His yesterday DEFINITELY didn’t impede on his today. And we all should try to be the same way, resilient.
But on the flip side… even when our yesterdays were phenomenal, we still can’t live there. We have to believe that our best days are still ahead of us. Otherwise, we will get complacent and content with the fact that we had a good day or game yesterday. No matter what the situation is, if we’re trying to elevate, grow or move forward, as long as we’re stuck to past, dead, and backward situations, we will not succeed. How could you? You can’t move!
