What really whomps is when I see a lot of you hoopers doing all this stuff but not getting enough in return. Like really… the shoes, the socks, the cone work, the plyometrics, the showcases, and so on and so forth… But what are you getting in return. Some likes on IG? A good cross over against stationary objects? Explosiveness without the manual guide? A decent ranking from who knows who? Look, that’s not enough. My brother (@inkandcompany) said to someone yesterday, “Y’all doing a whole lot for not enough!” and when I heard it, I immediately thought about a lot of hoopers out there. I commend you all for taking the first step and getting a trainer. But if you look at my pilot for For Real For Real Fridays with Lisa Willis, I talked about how all work/ training isn’t good work/ training. You have to make sure that the work that you are putting in will render the results that you want. Some trainers and drills are being taken so far that there’s ABSOLUTELY no game application. Meaning, when you get to the game, you still look like you haven’t been trained. Listen, all I’m saying is that for all the work and effort that is being brought, you at least want to make sure you’re able to get a nice result. #morningthought #motivation #inspiration #encouragement #basketball #hoopers #ballers #getbetter #results #think #work #play #thinkworkplay #twp #thebasketballphilosopher
