Controlling our thoughts is one of the hardest things ever. But when we realize that we are what our thought are, that when we change our thoughts we’ll change our world and that the happiness of our lives depends on the quality of our thoughts, then we may become a better shooter, a better defender, a better teammate, a better person/player, a better student, and the list of improvements go on. Our thoughts are powerful because they lead to our feelings and beliefs.
Think about this… if it was super clear to you that you would only be allowed to hang out with people who own the same feelings as you, some people would be upset. As a basketball player I always attract players that feel like me, and want to get better. But if you have all negative feelings, you’ll attract other downers (bc positive players won’t want to hang with you), and there becomes a downward spiral. You have to control that so you and your squad can feed off of each other’s positivity.
We can’t just think anything and we can’t just feel anything. We tend to want to be in control, so let’s control our thoughts and emotions. Your actions are interpretations of your thoughts… so if you’re thinking negatively, you’ll be acting the same way.
