Let’s be honest for a moment… good things aren’t coming to those who wait! Not in basketball, anyway. Waiting is an idea of the past. My grandparents’ generation was supposed to be patient. Today’s generation is full of go-getters. If we want it, we go out and get it. We’re not waiting for the coach to notice that we can ball… we make the coach notice that we can ball. We’re not waiting for our teammates to pass us the ball… we go get a steal, rebound, or make the right cut so that we can get the ball ourselves. It’s 2015 and it’s time for YOU to become a go-getter. We have to stop with all the excuses and work our butts offs. So, it’s Friday… the week is over… you’re tired, right? Are you off for the weekend, or are you hitting the gym after class. My dad always told me, “when you’re not practicing, there’s always someone else who is… and they’re getting better!” If you want the good things, you have to work for it. It’s that simple. Don’t limit yourself to what others can do for you and start taking control of your own future. Your parents can only speak up so much for you on the court. At some point, your game is going to have to earn you your respect… not words, not money, not your swag, but your game! #morningthought #motivation #inspiration #encouragement #beinspired #basketball #hoopers #ballers #getbetter #dobetter #bebetter #tbh #think #work #play #thinkworkplay #twp #thebasketballphilosopher www.thinkworkplaybasketball.com
